MU:note
Terms of Service
Effective 2026-10-03 · Version 2026-10-01 · 한국어 · Español · Deutsch
This page is the 2026-10-01 version. From 2026-10-22, the new Terms of Service apply.
1. Purpose
These terms govern the use of MU:note ("Service"), an automatic practice-tracking service operated by munote ("we").
2. The Service
- Automatic practice-time tracking via microphone sound detection, practice statistics and calendar, reflections, practice reminders, and AI encouragement notes ("a note from MU:note").
- A Friends feature for sharing practice updates with friends (optional).
- A Note Store where you can use in-app notes to get items such as calendar themes, outfits for Muni and practice-room decorations (optional).
- Automatic detection is for reference. Depending on the environment, it may differ from your actual practice time, and you can edit parts of your records in the app.
3. Accounts
- You can use the Service as a guest. Guest records are also stored on our server for syncing, but they are not linked to an account, so they cannot be accessed or recovered once the app is deleted.
- Signing up with Kakao or Apple ties your records to your account, so they can be restored by logging in after reinstalling or changing devices.
- You must be 14 or older to sign up.
4. Fees
Basic features such as practice records, statistics and the calendar are free. Notes used in the Note Store can be purchased; the price is shown in the app before you pay. Even with paid products, viewing your already-recorded data (calendar and totals) remains free.
4-2. Notes
- Notes are digital content used only to get items within the Service. They cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods, moved to another account, or given as gifts.
- Only members (signed up with Kakao or Apple) can buy notes and use the Store.
- Notes are kept on your account and can be used on any device where you log in with the same account.
4-3. Payment and refunds
- Notes are bought through Apple's in-app purchase (App Store); payment and refund requests follow Apple's policies and procedures. We never receive your payment details.
- Purchased notes are added to your account and become usable as soon as payment is confirmed, so your right to cancel (withdraw) may be limited under applicable law. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable law.
- If Apple approves a refund, we take back the notes granted by that purchase. If you have already spent them and there are not enough notes, the items you received most recently are taken back first to cover the shortfall, and any of them you were wearing are removed. Your note balance never goes below zero.
- If a minor makes a purchase without a legal guardian's consent, the minor or the guardian may cancel it under applicable law. Cancellation is handled through Apple.
- If you paid but did not receive your notes, please reopen the app — it checks pending purchases again. If they still do not arrive, contact us.
4-4. Items
- Items you get with notes (calendar themes, Muni outfits, practice-room backgrounds and decorations, instrument change tickets, etc.) can be used within the Service as long as your account exists.
- Items that take effect immediately, such as an instrument change ticket, cannot be undone after use.
- When you delete your account, your remaining notes, items and purchase history are deleted together and cannot be restored or refunded.
- We may change the lineup or prices of items in the Store, or stop selling them. Items you have already received remain usable.
5. Your responsibilities
- Do not use another person's account without permission.
- Do not interfere with the normal operation of the Service (unauthorized access, data tampering, abuse of the payment system, etc.).
- In the Friends feature, do not use names that may offend others. If we receive a report, we may change the name or restrict your use of the Friends feature.
6. Changes and discontinuation
We may change features to improve the Service. If the Service must be discontinued, we will give 30 days' notice and provide a period for you to review your records. If the Service is discontinued, any remaining paid notes will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
7. Limitation of liability
The Service provides practice records and statistics as reference information and does not guarantee the accuracy of automatic detection. We are not liable for damages arising from use of the Service except in cases of intent or gross negligence. For paid products, however, we bear the responsibilities set by applicable law.
8. Privacy
The handling of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law
These terms are interpreted under the laws of the Republic of Korea.
